Who we are

PickStormm(“we”, “us”) operates PickStormm, a free sports engagement service. This policy covers the PickStormm apps for iOS and Android, the web app at pick-storm-web-app.vercel.app, and this website.

Information we collect

Account

• Your email address and password. Sign-in, password handling and verification emails are run by Clerk, our authentication provider. Your password goes to Clerk; we never see it.

Profile

• Your first and last name, and your username.
• Your date of birth, collected when you set up your profile. We use it to confirm you are 18 or older and to check eligibility for monthly prizes.
• Your address and phone number, collected at profile setup.
• A profile photo you upload, or the animal avatar you choose instead.
• Your favorite sports and teams, and the play preferences you choose during onboarding.
• If you enter one, the username of the friend who invited you.

Activity

• Picks you make and their results.
• Your streaks and leaderboard stats.
• Fantasy contests you join, your lineups, draft picks and waiver claims.
• Games you follow.
• People you follow and people you block.

Content you send

• Chat messages you post in game rooms.
• Reports you make about other users' messages.
• Support tickets and the messages in them.

Device and security information

• Push notification tokens, so we can send alerts such as when a game you follow starts or goes final.
• A device fingerprint and your platform (for example iOS, Android or web).
• Fraud signals, such as several accounts being used on the same device.

We use this information to keep accounts secure and to prevent cheating and abuse.

Prize winners only

If you win a monthly prize, we email you at the address on your account. To confirm you are eligible and to deliver the prize, we ask for the details that takes, such as your legal name and mailing address, and tax information where the law requires it.

How we use information

• To create and run your account, and to show your profile, picks, streaks and leaderboard positions.
• To run picks and fantasy contests, grade results, and decide and deliver monthly prizes.
• To confirm your age and your eligibility for prizes.
• To send the notifications you allow.
• To answer support requests.
• To moderate chat, review reports, and enforce our Terms of Use and Community Guidelines.
• To secure accounts and detect fraud, multiple accounts and cheating.
• To meet legal obligations, such as tax rules for prizes.

We do not use your information for advertising.

What other users see

Other PickStormm users can see your username and avatar, your position and stats on leaderboards, your activity in contests you share with them, and the chat messages you post. Winners of monthly prizes are listed by username on the prize screen. Your email address, date of birth, address and phone number are not shown to other users.

Service providers and sharing

We share information only with service providers that help us run PickStormm, and only what each one needs for its job:

• Clerk for authentication: sign-in, passwords and verification emails.
• Railway for hosting our servers, database and file storage, including profile photos.
• Expo, Apple and Google push services to deliver notifications to your device.
• AI model providersto generate sports analysis, the AI Analyst's picks and news summaries. We send them game and news information only. No personal information is sent to them.

Sports data and news feeds work the other way: they send us scores, stats, injury reports and headlines. We send them nothing about our users.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect the safety of our users or the public, to protect our rights, or as part of a merger, sale or reorganization of the service. In that last case, this policy continues to apply to your information.

No selling, no tracking

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites. There are no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs active in the app today. If that changes, we will update this policy first.

Cookies and local storage

The web app uses essential cookies and your browser's local storage to keep you signed in and to remember your theme setting. We don't use advertising cookies.

Retention and deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active.

You can delete your account at any time. In the app, go to Account → Delete account. On the web app, open Account and choose Delete account. The delete account page walks through the steps.

What we delete

• Your sign-in account with our authentication provider
• Your name, username, email address, date of birth, address and phone number
• Your profile photo or avatar, and your preferences
• Push notification tokens and device records
• The games you follow
• The people you follow and the people you block
• Your chat messages

What we keep

• Game history, anonymized. Picks and contest results stay so past leaderboards and contests remain accurate, but they are no longer tied to your name.
• Records we must keep. Audit logs, fraud signals and prize records, kept for security, fraud prevention, accounting or legal reasons.
• Support tickets. Earlier conversations with our support team stay on record.

If you are owed a prize when you delete your account, we keep the contact details needed to deliver it until it has been delivered.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and limits on which staff can access account data. No system is completely secure, so we can't guarantee the security of information you send us.

Children

PickStormm is for people 18 or older and is not directed to children. We don't knowingly collect information from children. If we learn that we have, we will delete it. If you believe a child has given us information, please contact us.

Your choices and rights

• Access and correct. You can see and edit most of your profile in the app. Your date of birth is locked once saved, so contact Support to correct it.
• Delete. Delete your account in the app or on the web, or ask Support to do it for you.
• Notifications. Turn push notifications off at any time in your device settings.
• Get a copy or ask a question. Contact us through the Support page or at pickstorm@gmail.com.

We respond to requests within the time applicable law requires. We may need to confirm that you own the account before acting on a request.

Regional privacy rights

European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland

If you live in one of these regions, data protection law gives you the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive a copy in a portable format, and to withdraw consent where we rely on consent. We use your information to provide the service you signed up for, for our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and fair, to meet legal obligations, and with your consent where the law requires it. Your information may be processed in countries other than the one you live in, including the United States. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

California and other US states

If you live in California or another US state with a consumer privacy law, you may have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, and to access, correct or delete it. You also have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information; we do not sell or share personal information as those laws define it. The categories we collect are listed under Information we collect. We will not treat you differently for using any of these rights.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed. If we make a material change, we will announce it in the app.
